Stewardship, Rescue & Sustainable Livestock
At Weeping Willows Ranch, our animals are more than livestock. They are individuals with unique personalities, needs, and stories, and caring for them is a responsibility we take seriously.

Weeping Willows Ranch is a nonprofit livestock rescue dedicated to providing animals with safety, compassionate care, rehabilitation, and a place where they can thrive. At the same time, we believe responsible livestock agriculture can play an important role in sustaining a rescue and educating our community about where food comes from. For us, it is about finding a healthy balance between rescue, stewardship, education, agriculture, and compassion.

We support our rescue mission through responsibly raised lambs and Meishan pigs offered as breeding stock and meat shares, as well as donations and community support. These programs help provide the resources necessary to care for rescued animals and maintain the ranch.

Our Philosophy: Stewardship Over Production
Raising livestock should never be about treating an animal as a commodity.
It begins with recognizing that every animal entrusted to our care deserves appropriate food, clean water, shelter, protection, veterinary attention, companionship, and the opportunity to live according to its natural behaviors.
Our approach is rooted in stewardship. We believe that caring for animals means paying attention to their behavior, health, relationships, and the environment around them

Why We Raise Sheep and Meishan Pigs
Our sheep and Meishan Pigs programs have two important purposes. First, we raise them responsibly and provide families and other livestock owners with healthy animals that may become part of their own breeding programs.

Second, our breeding and meat-share programs help generate income that goes directly toward supporting the larger mission of Weeping Willows Ranch. The agricultural side of our ranch helps sustain the rescue side.

This allows us to continue providing food, shelter, medical care, fencing, pasture, enrichment, and daily care for animals who need a second chance. We believe this creates an important connection between responsible agriculture and animal rescue.

When you purchase a breeding animal or participate in a meat share from Weeping Willows Ranch, you are not simply purchasing food or livestock. You are helping support a nonprofit ranch whose larger mission is caring for animals in need.

Our goal isn't simply to raise an animal to a particular weight. Our goal is to raise healthy animals well.
