Livestock & Equine Rescue

What Happens When an Animal Comes to Weeping Willows Ranch?

Rescue is only the first step.  When an animal arrives at Weeping Willows Ranch, we take the time to understand what they need and create a plan for their care.

RESCUE

We work to help animals who are in situations where they need immediate relocation, rehabilitation, or a safe place to recover. Every rescue has a story. Some are heartbreaking. Some are difficult. But every one deserves compassion.

ASSESSMENT & VETERINARY CARE

Once an animal arrives, we evaluate their condition and determine what care they need. Depending on the animal, this may include veterinary examinations, vaccinations, medications, dental care, wound treatment, diagnostic testing, or other medical needs. We also work with qualified farriers to address hoof and foot care.

NUTRITION & RECOVERY

Many rescued animals need more than a safe pasture. They may arrive underweight, dehydrated, weak, or lacking proper nutrition. We provide appropriate feed, hay, water, supplements when needed, and plenty of time to regain their strength.

Recovery doesn't happen overnight. We believe in giving each animal the time they need.

REHABILITATION

Healing isn't always physical. Animals that have experienced neglect or difficult circumstances may need time to learn that humans can be trusted.

We use patience, consistency, positive interaction, and appropriate handling to help animals regain confidence.

TRAINING & SOCIALIZATION

When appropriate, animals receive basic handling, training, and socialization. Our goal isn't to rush them. Our goal is to help them become safe, confident, and better prepared for whatever comes next.

REHOME OR SANCTUARY

When an animal is healthy and ready, we carefully consider whether a forever home is appropriate.

We want placements to be successful, not temporary.

Some animals may need specialized care or may not be suitable for adoption. When that happens, we do everything we can to provide them with a safe and loving life here at the ranch.

Every animal's journey is different. Our job is to meet them where they are and help them move forward.
